Days and years in and out of the lab
Are now a story and a small contribution
To a vivid community
Scientists share and compete
Building a library and a better world.
On the silent train,
I space-travel and time-travel
With no effort.
The welcoming feeling of home
is left behind in a step
And ne realities kick in
I often deny the beauty
Of the world passing by
And neglect the true source
Of a life to remember.
Springing water can clean my avidity
With its transparent and youth
And I will make sure I will get surprised
Silver and pink will make my office
The sensitivity and hardness of metals
Will match the comfort of my feminine side
And lead the science and the people.
The domestic poetry of proteins
Will join the practically and instability of research.
On a foot I cruise the lab,
Walking sideways in a diagonal,
I reach my high desk.
I stretch my neck to discover the documents,
Hiding silent in the back,
While the others follow me
with their eyes filled of water.
You are looking somewhere different
In the picture where all are proud.
Tired of belonging to the crowd,
You found your focus,
Far and not so well defined.
With Each step you take
it becomes sharper and maybe closer,
Waterproof and windproof I sail out
Feeling a fearless warrior and sneaky cat
in my soft belly.
An army of characters and attitudes
Populate me and take shifts
To go through this Monday
And to make it glittery and eye-catching
Like that romantic movie
On the big screen.
I mix my dreams with my loved ones
And try to paint a picture of harmony.
Work and life,
Food and acceptance,
Love and ambition,
Balance and moving forward
Delimit my way.
In this day of treasure hunts and inquisitive looks,
I move slowly asking the people of the lab.
Envy and demands appeared together
But my persona is well defined
And the borders guarded.
Short but sneaky, the human fence
Cannot be fooled.
Red Hair and a pointy nose
Are your ticket in this trip
Between mountains of velvety sheeps
and tons of vivid petals.
I see what you see
And touch those peculiarities
That dot the panorama
And that drive me to the top.
The young grass is stinging my feet
That enjoy the spontaneous ground
Like small children with no doubts.
They move with the notes
Of crickets and beetles,
Of dark butterflies with big eyes,
And make a personal rhythm
I can only feel.
I sit in this train
Fruit of mechanics and engineering
But today Full of eccentric lifestyles and meaningful missions.
I am Searching through the window mine.
The wild and the human concrete
unroll with regularity building expectations
And suspense for the ending
That has not been written yet.
I yawn like nobody else exists
And my muscles enjoy a little reading
I only know it could feel so good.
In a crowd, yet behaving like alone,
Is the human equivalent
of marking your territory of freedom
And of personal expression.
My body is soft
And weak to the fight
Telling me evolution might have not
Made me a favour.
Tasks get tougher worth the years
And thoughts more demanding
While the prize shines of gold and reputation.
