Companionships

Well dressed animals with endangered opinions

Scan the floor and the offices

To locate their natural spot.

Women with confidence

Judge, yet support each other,

Holding invisible hands during each meeting.

Women only

The how-to-dos are fixed

In childhood and by example,

Yet fun to challenge.

Why can’t I do it?

I can always do it.

I pay rent, i drive cars and motorbikes,

I have a good salary,

I have an opinion,

My opinion is loud.

Hard

What holds me and tries to stop me

Must be behind my back.

I cannot see your face

And fight You

With all my wisdom.

Compassion and kindness,

Fairness and sympathy are my code of ethics

To slalom in life away.

Hard to please, hard to self affirm,

Hard to smile meanwhile.

Dress strong

So sleeping, I choose my dress
In the dark of the bedroom
As an armour for the day.
A sharp colour for subtle affirmations
And a sleek shape to slide through
Confrontation.

Equal writing

Your voice might be short and squeaky
And gently fall prey to louder opinions,
Yet your words are equal.
