Meeting etiquette

Your opinion is loud in your head
And will not rest
until it is shouted to those bosses.
The setting is absorbing the sounds
And the meeting proceeds
with no hype.
All are listening and pretending,
A few decide
On the apparent democracy.
Raising your voice is not welcome
And hiding your knowledge
behind a subtle question
might be your only expression.

Authentic self

It is running through the crowd
Looking for a too friendly face,
The blame for not adapting.
Too true to yourself,
You refused the rules and expectations
of your younger peers,
Just to be well-defined and authentic.
Time has passed
And your originality is no novelty
To the people that around you
Puff their day away.

Pacing independence

I pace the institute
With restless steps
Leading nowhere.
Regular and focused
They fill the time
Until the age of knowledge will come.

Thoughts

Unknown to me is
How to timidly proceed
When the others shout
And raise themselves to priority.
Impressive to me is
The presumption of the young boys
Who seek a creation of wisdom
For gold.
Wasteful to me is
The wise silence of the experienced
Who watch and think
While the situation resolves itself.

Scientist army

Scientists to succeed
Avid writer of peculiar stories
With no suspension marks.
Eliminating doubts
And fighting mistrust
They put the borders of knowledge
A bit more on focus
At each excitement.
Pushing the border a step each,
They are solitary fighters
In a worldwide effort.

Unknown science

The unknown is always there
Written its power and its curiosity
It pulls you towards the edge
Of knowledge and creativity.
The call is rhythmic
And white noise to a life in science.
You cannot avoid it
And you fear where out takes you.

On the way to the lab

The sun is shy today
And clouds seem to buffer
The full potential of a day in the lab.
Trepidation takes me there,
Expectations drive my walk to the bench,
Reasoning on unheard hypotheses
Excites my ego and hurries my hands.
