What hides in the grass
Grown in this day of transition?
Fruits like Easter eggs
Are hard to see,
Yet precious and rewarding
For the eye of the naïve.
Work, health, friends, emails, future plans
Are ripening hidden in the green
Of hope and routine.
The time a cake with the ingredients
became a cake with two ingredients.
The time the coffee break
And included a whole lunch break.
The time I knew my stuff
Yet my protein decided not to follow
The protocol in front of me.
The time when results were so joyful
And better than any published ones.
The same day I could not stop working
And tempting little questions
Kept popping in my head,
And I was in the lab until morning.
